Why I Want to Own My Writing

I’ve been thinking more about where I put things I write online.

For years, social networks provided an obvious place for short observations, links, and conversations. But increasingly, I don’t want the things I write to exist only inside someone else’s platform.

I’d rather have a place that belongs to me.

That doesn’t mean everything needs to be an essay. Sometimes I might have a sentence to say. Other times I might want to work through an idea at length. What matters is that both can live in the same place, under my own domain, and remain available for me to reference later.
